Last October, Crytek launched Warface, a free-to-play first-person shooter on PC packing rich visuals and effects powered by its CryEngine 3 graphics technology. Now Steam users can participate in Warface’s blisteringly intense multiplayer combat, too.

In Warface, players are dropped into a war-ton depiction of the near future in which a corrupt multinational military entity known as Blackwood has infiltrated virtually every sector of the modern world.

Players can engage in both competitive and cooperative online multiplayer battles as four distinct military classes including rifleman, medic, engineer and sniper. Multiplayer shooter genre staples including team deathmatch and capture-the-flag are featured along with co-op favorites like defending a base from progressively deadlier waves of enemies.

Competing in online matches in Warface will unlock experience points and in-game currency that can be spent on a variety of equipment upgrades, guns and new outfits.

Even though Warface released last year, Crytek is constantly rolling out fresh content and updates to keep players engaged in the game.

"Bringing Warface to Steam paves the way for a new audience to discover the game's engrossing cooperative and competitive action; completely for free,” said Hasit Zala, Warface Franchise Director.

You can download Warface on its official page on Steam here.
